Wellness Through Balance

I believe acupuncture can help you lead a healthier and happier life by restoring the natural balance within the body.
You can have a healthy, pain free and balanced life.

  • Treating Back, Sciatica and Chronic Pain
  • Improving Mental Wellness
  • Acupuncture is a safe and effective path to the life you want.

Many years ago, during a speech to first year students, I finished with the phrase “It’s all about getting the balance right”. Several years later, studying Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture I realised the full truth of that statement.
A balanced body and balanced mind is a wonderful feeling. Resistant to the pulls and tugs of daily life; healthy and free from aches and pains; able to engage in activity and also find one’s inner calm – Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine can help everyone enjoy life to their fullest.

For me, the greatest satisfaction comes from seeing the transformation that occurs in each patient. Whether it’s the relief of an expectant mother knowing her baby has moved from breach to normal position or her back pain diminishing; a runner back training after being put out of the race by foot pain; a young father knowing that he can cope again or an elderly lady not having to take pain killers for her knee. Being the person that helped is always a privilege.

I trained in the Shanghai College of Acupuncture in Dublin, where I was taught by lecturers from the 6th teaching Hospital of Shanghai. My clinical practice was completed in the Su Pin Chen’s clinic in Terenure. I then went on to run a busy clinic in Mountjoy Square, Dublin. As a long term resident in Monasterevin, I want to offer my skills to benefit the local community.

I aim to make your acupuncture and Chinese medicine experience as pleasant, relaxing and restorative for you as possible. To help us do this, please have a read through the guidelines below…

Booking: All appointments must be pre booked. Appointments 24 hours or more in advance can be booked through the booking portal. If you require a short notice or same day appointment then please ring 0864059898. Please do leave a message if your call is unanswered. I don’t answer the phone when dealing with another patient, but will return all calls as quickly as possible.

Pre-Appointment Questionnaire: All patients are required to complete the Covid Pre Appointment Questionnaire on the day of their appointment. If you answer yes to any of the questions then unfortunately your appointment will not take place and will be rescheduled.

What to Wear: Please wear loose fitting, comfortable clothing. Please avoid wearing much make up ad facial diagnosis can form part of the treatment. . It’s a good Idea to wear or bring shorts and a vest or t-shirt, the majority of acupuncture points commonly used are below the elbow, below the knee and on the back.

Arrival for your appointment: Please do not arrive too early for your appointment. We do not have a waiting room. You can wait outside the clinic or in your car and you will be texted immediately before your appointment begins to ask you to come into the clinic.

Masks: Both Patient and Practitioner will be required to wear a mask for the duration of the treatment as it is not possible to maintain a 2m distance during the treatment. If you do not have a mask you will be given a disposable mask on arrival.

Hand Sanitisation: Hand sanitizer is located directly inside the door and you are required to sanitise your hands on arrival.

Blankets: You are welcome to bring your own blanket if you wish. Alternatively, we have blankets available in the clinic which are washed at 60 degrees after each use.

Clinic cleaning protocol: We are following strict cleaning guidelines in relation to ensuring the clinic is a safe environment for each patient. This means that the treatment room, and especially touched surfaces are cleaned down between each patient and that the clinic is extensively cleaned on a daily basis.
