We are a family-run business in the town for over 37 years. We can cater to all your needs from a simple cup of tea, a bag of chips, and your party nights out!

About Us

Phelan's Restaurant and Catering Service is one of the oldest and best-known family businesses in Laois.

From its premises on Main Street Mountrath, it has catered to generations of people and is set to continue to do so.

Eddie Phelan started his business in a chip van in Mountrath in 1969.

Phelan's is now into its third generation of running the business, with grandson Jack Cuddy (17) also working in the restaurant. Eddie, his wife Maura, his daughters Edwina and Grainne, and son Gearoid who is the Head Chef now run the business.
